# Data Availability Servers

Committee members manage Data Availability Servers (DAS), which provide access to two crucial APIs:

1. Sequencer API: Reserved solely for use by the Arbitrum chain's Sequencer, this JSON-RPC interface allows the Sequencer to submit data blocks to the DAS for storage.
2. REST API: Tailored for wider access, this RESTful HTTP(S)-based protocol permits retrieval of data blocks by hash. It supports full caching, and deployments can integrate caching proxies or CDNs to improve scalability and mitigate potential DoS attacks.
